Today was the first chilly morning and I can't help but build with anticipation of the winter yet to come. I am the odd one here in Pittsburgh who counts the days until the snow returns.
Since I grew up in Florida snow is still so new to me and I just am amazed by it and love hearing it crunch beneath my feet. Everything looks so beautiful blanketed in crisp new fallen snow (even pittsburgh). So when I walked out of my door this morning and fet the nip and saw the breath in front of me I got a bit excited.
I also love the winter holidays. Halloween is special as we will sit on our front porch and pass out candy to all the little meth addicts in the neighborhood. I may even dress up this year.
Thanksgiving is not that big of a holiday for me, but black friday is much fun. I love going to the mall and watching the rush of people snatching up any and everything on sale.
Christmas is the best of all. The trees we put up and decorate throughout the house and my baby will put all the lights up outside. Last year he went home for christmas and I stayed behind for work. This year we will be together and I am off from work. So we will munch on christmas goodies and enjoy our trees. I can hardly wait.
New years is more of a drunk holiday and my dunk days are behind me (for the most part). So we will probably wander downtown and watch some foreworks. My baby gets all worked up over fireworks and I am all for that.....
