Smelly Cat....

Twice this week I have been force to point out odors coming from other people.

The first was during an interview where the applicant was bathed in smoke smell. To the point where I opened my office door. I am one of those horrible ex-smokers who cannot stand the smell of smoke, but this chick was reeking. The HR generalist gave me a "heads up" before she brought the applicant up and even with the warning I was amazed at how strong the stench was. Towards the end of the interview I explained that she would need to do something about her smoking smells should she be offered a position. She admitted that she smoked in her car with the windows up and appologized for the odor and promised that it would not be an issue.

The second offensive smell came during a training session I was involved in with a few other members of my department. We were providing some systems training on new hires and one of my department members had some pretty foul breath. It is someone I get along with well and did not have a problem letting him know his breath smelled as if he had been eating shit before walking into the session. He was cool and I gave him some gum and that helped much.

The people I work with are great and are comfortable with one another to the point that you will be told if you have a visable booger or if yourpants are camping out in your ass crack. I actually enjoy that type of environment and feel that we look out for one another. There is even a code for the missed zipper in the office, "zip up your damn pants". Such love!
